The Metabolomics Platform at The University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC) is a newly established research facility located in the Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery (KCBD). The metabolomics platform’s mission is to work in collaboration with groups from the university and the external research community to develop and apply advanced metabolomics techniques to answer basic and translational scientific questions.
The platform is equipped with the high-resolution Thermo Scientific Orbitrap IQ-X Tribrid mass spectrometer(+UVPD)- Vanquish Horizon UHPLC system. We have experience in quantifying diverse groups of metabolites in a wide variety of matrices such as cells, culture medium, bodily fluid, animal tissue, exhaled breath condensate, etc., and performing stable isotope tracing experiments using 13C, 15N, and 2H-labeled substrates. We support hypothesis-generating untargeted and hypothesis-driven targeted metabolomics studies from the experimental design stage through data acquisition, data analysis, and interpretation.
